Family Movie Night is back!
While it’s a good suggestion to preview something before watching with your child we know you’re busy. Here’s a list of 50 Punky Parent approved movies in alphabetical order. Some of these movies do have sexual innuendos or some curse words (I’m looking at you, Goonies), but overall pretty tame. We watched them as a kid right?
You can search for a movie on Common Sense Media, a website dedicated to unbiased advice and cautions about all types of media, to see if it’s the right fit for your family.Â

This list reminded me of some awesome movies to show the kids! I think we’ll have a family movie night soon.
I still watch a lot of these and I’m 24! All very good suggestions for little ones!
I have a few to add but I maybe dating myself. .
The Adventures of Natty Gann, Popeye, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Flight of the Navigator. Sky High was pretty great as well.
I see that Paranorman made this list. I watched that on my own and had so many issues with it that I still won’t let my kids watch it .
I’m a huge fan of Dark Crystal, Secret of Nimh, and Labyrinth. I can’t wait to watch those movies with my kids.
This is a great list and gave me some movies I really want to re-watch this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Talk about a post that sends you back in the past! Thank you so much! I’m definitely going to pull out some old movies next weekend.
What a great list! My little one is almost ready for these movies and I’m excited to share them with her.
Back and the Cuckoo Clock Heart!
My kids are funny- cannot deal with any parent loss/trauma but unfazed by violence and such.
Good burger with kenan and kel is another great option and a total throw back!! My 7 year old LOVES it!!
