Why do I need birth mantras?

Only you can answer that question for yourself but we can all agree that it is so important to be in the right frame of mind when laboring and birthing your baby.

When you think positive, it can have a huge impact on your body and mind. Rather than tensing up and doubting yourself, if you stay positive, your body reacts to what your mind is thinking.

If you are already resigned to think that you can’t do it, your body will tense up and you will be working against tense muscles. When those contractions come, that is not where you want your mind. Every contraction is trying to gently move those muscles and open your cervix to allow baby out.

If you stay relaxed and thinking positive, it will help your body do what it is supposed to do. For every contraction, it will gently be pulling those muscles on your uterus up, moving baby into a good position, opening your cervix and allowing space for baby to come out.

It can be hard to go to your happy place with every surge that comes in birth. By choosing to have a few (or many) birth mantras up, you are simply putting the power of positivity into your birth space. I had printed out about 10 and had them all around the beginning part of my birth

You don’t have to be birthing to start already, place them around where you will see them… next to the stove, in the car, on the bathroom mirror, by your bed. The ultimate goal is for them to be absorbed into your consciousness so your brain start to believe the statements and then makes it a reality… that can only be a good thing!
