DIY Cat Bed Tutorial

Made From Your Old T-Shirts!

What cat wouldn’t love a handmade T-shirt pillow bed? Especially when it is one that their owner wore in the past.  Pets like to be close to their people and this bed will help comfort your cat even when you are away.

 

Materials

Old T-shirts

Pillow Stuffing (Poly-Fil)

Ruler

Pencil

Scissors

Sewing Machine

Thread

 

cat bed 001Lay out your T-shirt.  Use the ruler to measure out the desired size of your pillow, leaving room for seam allowance. Mark your cut lines with a pencil.

Cut both sides of your rectangle at once (front and back together).

Turn right sides in (so the outsides are facing eachother) and pin together.

Sew edges, leaving a few inches open to stuff.  I used a zig zag stitch because it is a stretchy material.

Turn right side out and stuff through the hole you left open

Give to Kitty, get Happy Cat!
