I made these little painted birdhouses a few weeks ago. I originally wanted to place them behind a drink table at garden party but instead opted for the sad corner of my front porch. I love these little guys although I am a little scared as I read an article a few weeks ago that talked about how bad these little bird houses were for you know, actual birds. I hope that wasps do not decide to make it their home. UPDATE, They totally did
I had the kids help in painting them with me. They really had a great time and I wasn’t worried about how perfect it was since I was planning on white washing them and making them look shabby chic and old anyways. They sell wood birdhouses for $1 a piece at any local craft store. I bought mine at Joann Fabric.
There they are! I love them and have been wanting to do the rest of the porch. They are so whimsical and darling. It is a very easy craft that the kids can do too. I really had fun with different color combinations.
