Maybe you only want a small tree that can serve as entryway decor. Maybe you are just the unconventional type, hey aren’t we all as Punkies?
Whatever the reason for being anti-pine, we won’t judge you. However keep up the holiday spirit and eliminate the mess, go off the holiday grid with an alternative Christmas tree this year. It’s totally the way forward.

We really dig the idea of using an old ladder as a tree or books. You could always just grab some paint and create your own, we like how they used a corner for this one. Got chalk? Home improvement stores sell chalk board paint, you can create an accent wall in your home and change the drawing for the season. Here is also a similar idea with a very basic tree drawn on the wall then decorated with actual lights and ornaments. We love the random knick knacks used in this tree formation (we have so many!). Have some old two by fours left over from a renovation project? Nail them together for a DIY tree. Maybe a rustic tree alternative is more your style. You can make this from branches and other objects found in your own backyard.
Or for the most kiddie friendly tree, how about felt! Everyone loves FELT! Create a felt tree even your toddler can help decorate. It is so cute.

What fun ideas! I especially love the book tree, and the knick-knack one is pretty cool too. It kind of reminds me of those “I Spy” books :).
