We asked our Family Facebook group how they go about saving the world on a daily basis. Our members are a resourceful bunch. Together we came up with 40 different ways you and your family can reduce, reuse, and recycle. Earth day should be everyday!
Saving the planet doesn’t need to be stressful. There are many simple ways you can do your bit to help. These are great suggestions that anyone can and should take to help reduce the effect of years of abuse. Especially with our current administration. Insert Sad Face
- Use permanent water bottles.
- Bring your mug to the coffee shop.
- Bring your own bags when shopping.
- Get on board with mama cloth or moon cups.
- Cloth napkins.
- Kitchen towels and rags over paper towels.
- Cloth diapering.
- Solar panels really help bring down the electric bill.
- Shop local. The less traveling the products have to do the better.
- If you’re really brave, go for family cloth.
- Compost.
- Grow your own veggies and fruits.
- Reuse or repurpose containers.
- Replace tissues with handkerchiefs.
- Look and see what your city recycles and then do it.
- Line dry your laundry.
- Use greywater for watering plants.
- Walk or bike when you can.
- Use public transportation.
- Drive a fuel efficient or electric car.

- Making your own cleaners.
- Store them in reusable containers.
- Donate or give outgrown and gently used clothes.
- Buy thrift store clothes.
- Make rags or bags out of well loved shirts.
- Buy second hand furniture.
- Join a buy nothing group.
- Buy energy efficient appliances.
- Unplug things like toasters when not in use.
- ‘Bee’ mindful of plant additives and pesticides when caring for your garden.
- Dispose of medications safely.
- Turn the tap off when you brush your teeth.
- Reuse your holiday cards!
