I am poppin our Drunkymoms cherry. This has always been a fun board on the forums that I decided it needed it’s own space on our new website. It will be a database of some yummy drinks to make and we will post some fantastic cocktail recipes in the coming weeks for ya’ll to enjoy.
I so wish I was having a Halloween party this year. I would LOVE to make spooky recipe for Halloween punch. The flavors of orange help add a different twist to the pumpkin….and let’s not forget the rum! What about the rum?!
Although it seems a bit involved with the additional recipe for Demerara cordial, it still seems simple enough. Head over to Honestly Yum for the complete post with picture directions.
Demerara Spiced Cordial:
- 1/2 cup demerara sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 oz demerara rum
- 6 whole cloves
- 6 allspice berries
- 1 cinnamon stick broken into pieces
- 1 star anise pod
- 6 white peppercorns
- 1/2 nutmeg cracked
- Add the spices to a small saucepan over medium heat. Shake the spices back and forth so that they do not burn.As soon as the spices become toasty and aromatic add the water and sugar. Stir continuously to dissolve the sugar. Bring to a simmer and turn the heat to low. Let simmer for 10 minutes, remove from heat, and strain through a fine mesh strainer.
