Kicking Motherhood in the Ass

PunkyMoms is Selling a PDF Mini Cookbook & Giving Away a Prize!

Yep, you read right! We’ve put together a mini cookbook to help fund our full sized cookbook! It’s a rockin’ PDF too, full of my favourite at-home recipes. This bit is at the bottom, but for you impatient types (you know who you are – I am too!) we’re selling a mini cookbook in PDF format, and since you happened to buy this book, we’re giving you a raffle ticket too! This lets us get around pesky legal issues. Visit this page to get your tickets

You can buy as many PDFs as you want! Feel free to just download it once. It wont change just because you buy more. For every PDF you purchase you will get, direct to your email, one number to an actual ticket that I will write your fullĀ  name on and drop in a box.

For every 75$ in PDF cookbooks we sell, we will draw one winner. This will be an ongoing raffle until we get rid of all the prizes and I’ve got one surprise raffle to run at the end.

But wait, there’s more! Share this page on your blog and post the link (to your blog) in the comments below and be entered in a contest to win two tickets! We’ll be picking two winners to give tickets to. We want to spread the word far and wide. Want to enter via Twitter? Just tweet this: RT @PunkyMomsdotCom is Selling a PDF Mini Cookbook & Giving Away a Prize! | http://bit.ly/ab3xqX | #PunkyMoms #GiveAway

Info from the product page itself:

For the low low price of 1$ USD you will get one ticket, one PDF file and one chance to win a mystery box!

Your mystery box will come complete with… well, it’s a mystery! We can tell you the box is worth about 60$, it’s a large flat rate box, and it’s pretty well stuffed!

Your mini PDF cookbook was lovingly formatted with hand picked recipes from my personal collection. These recipes will not be in the final cookbook! This PDF is only being sold in conjection with the raffle.

Your 1$ will go towards printing fees for the full sized cookbook (so we don’t have to take preorders), hosting fees, license fees, new swag fees, pretty much everything we need to shell bucks out for, it’ll go towards that until we’ve squeezed every last cent from it.

So, for your hard earned 1$, you get a chance to win an awesome box of yum, and we get to offer more goodies! Everyone wins! I love when everyone wins.

After your purchase and after your payment has cleared (usually immediately) you will get a link to the downloadable PDF recipe mini book.

Because we cannot legally sell raffle tickets, we are selling this nifty cookbook. As a thank you for purchasing this cookbook, we will give you one entry into our raffle! Each entry will have a number that will be emailed to you. You can purchase as many copies of the cookbook as you want and will recieve that many entries into the raffle. We will draw one winning ticket for every 75$ we collect. Your number(s) will remain active until the end of the giveaways (so if we pick a number, and you don’t win, your ticket will stay in the box of tickets for the next drawing).

Cookin’ Time! Classic Mirepoix

Mirepoix is a great way to start any stew or soup or almost any dish really. It helps bring on many layers of flavor, as there are endless ways to use it. “Our” version is the classic combination, and can be double, tripled, or whatever, so long as the ratio is kept the same. Want to spend a day cutting? Mirepoix freezes very well and is useful practically daily.

  • 1 Cup onion, diced small
  • 1/2 Cup carrot, diced small
  • 1/2 Cup celery, diced small

Your dice should be as uniform in size as possible. Use as a base in endless dishes. It is equally at home dressing up a package of ramen as it is supporting a roast beast in the oven or tossed in a crock pot stew.

Cookin’ Time! Punkymom’s Fertility Slaw!

I cannot believe this wasn’t our first Cookin’ Time! recipe! What was I thinking? I can’t even tell you. Our own Winter Rosebudd shared this deliciousness with us oh, five or so years ago! Now, I make a lot of slaw. Mayo slaw, vinegar slaw, non-mayo slaw, I’ve got about six “standby” recipes for slaw. Cabbage is cheap, filling, crunchy, mild and delicious. Did I mention cheap? An uncut cabbage keeps practically forever in the fridge (unwrapped! no plastic!), so if you forget about it in the back, well, it’ll still be there in a week or two when you find it again! Purple cabbage? Full of good stuff and flavour. Green cabbage? A delicious mild, peppery kind of taste. Well, enough about my love of cabbage, onto Ms. Rosebudd’s slaw.

This is my own recipe…its really pretty, with lots of bright colors… Its fat free, totally yummy and for some odd reason, gets people pregnant…just ask your fellow Punkymom’s!!!

  • 1 head of purple cabbage sliced thin
  • 1 each red, yellow, orange, green bell peppers sliced thin
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 bunch of fresh cilantro chopped

Dressing…

  • 3/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 tables soy sauce
  • 1 or 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1″ piece of fresh ginger minced (optional)
  • sesame seeds to sprinkle on top (optional)

Whisk dressing in a bowl. Mix with other ingredients and refrigerate for 1 hour at least.

You can easily sub this dressing with any Asian style dressing. I like mine because its fat free and I think it tastes better without the oil!
